So this weekend I found myself searching for some good high end skincare products from brands like La Prairie, Sisley, La Mer, ... and I stumbled upon January Jones's skincare routine. Let's all admit that she has really great skin and doesn't seem to have aged over the years.
The picture above is a make-up free selfie that the 38 year old Mad Men actress posted on instagram. I know these celebrities have a whole team behind them that are there to make them look the best they can, that they have access to the best dermatologists, get regular facials etc. But I still wonder if the products they use really help you age gracefully, better than drugstore products could ever do.
January followed her make-up free selfie with a picture of her skincare routine. She uses some affordable products and some really expensive products, the Sisley Supreme La Nuit Anti-Aging Skin Care being the most expensive (retails for €505,20 / $795 at Nordstrom).
Being in my mid-late twenties my interest in good skincare and age prevention grows. I haven't really tried high-end skincare products, but they make me curious. I don't mind investing in my skin, and I simply want to know what the fuzz is all about. That's why I've decided to put these to the test. Over the next couple of months I am going to try to add some high end products to my own routine. I'll start by adding one at a time and slightly add more (whenever I run out of something). I might try some samples though before I really spend €500 on a product that I don't like :). This way I can really figure out what works/is worth it, and what not.
What are your thoughts about high-end skincare? Do you have any recommendations?
